4. Dark
He shuddered, clutching his shirt. He was cold, all alone… all alone…
“I-is there anyone out there?” he called out. Nothing. Only an echo answered.
He glanced around fearfully. Nothing. All he could see was the endless dark. “Help! Help! Someone, please; help!” Nothing.
Nothing. Nothing. And then…
“There you are!” Bright light. Though momentarily blinded, he blinked, trying to see.
She came to him, obviously concerned. “I’ve been looking all over for you, child. Don’t you know how worried mummy was?”
“I’m sorry mummy,” he grinned sheepishly, “I was playing.”
“Well, don’t do that again,” she chided mildly, smiling.
