11. Memory
“…So you have no memory after, or before the crash?”
She shook her head. Her mind was blank. She understood, but couldn’t remember.
The doctor sighed. “I’m afraid she may have lost her memories, sir.”
Her father asked, “S-so she wouldn’t be able to remember me, or anything, at all?”
The doctor shrugged sadly. “I cannot guarantee it. Better ask yourself.”
He turned to her, teary. “Child, so you do not remember me?”
She stared. Briefly a scene flashed before her; a young girl playing on the swing with a grown-up man, both laughing…
Though teary-eyed, she shook her head.
