22. Mother Nature
She hadn’t done much, in truth. In fact, the only thing she was the ‘mother’ to was planet Earth, and the universe. The rest, creation of man, for instance, just happened.
She asked her daughter, Earth. “How are you, child?”
“Oh, fine,” Earth answered. “A new kind seemed to have emerged… but nothing much otherwise.”
Years later, Mother Nature asked again. “The new kind is very inventive, and creating new things I’ve never dreamed of.”
Years later, she asked again. This time, Earth said, “I feel ill. The new kind is fighting against each other. I wish they would stop.”
