Moving Blog?
I am considering about moving my blog, or having another blog. With another account.
Don't get me wrong; I love this patchy blog to bits. Plus I really hate changing things, so I don't really like having to change my ways for new systems. Such examples are Adobe CS4 and guitar playing styles.
Back to the point. My reason is that I want to change my account is not actually reasonable. But I've never been logical anyway.
Blogger/Google account won't allow my brand new G-Mail address to be my 'primary account'.
It's such a simple act. Yet why? Why, I wonder. I really want to use my Gmail, and yet it's saying 'no you can't.'
I just do not understand.
And so this idea was born. I once thought about making another blog. This can be my chance.
Don't worry, my little 'Blog World'; I'm sure I'll come back for you soon.
At least for the moment, adieu.
Smileys for all: :)

A Simpleton's POV of Italian Unification (+ random things)
...
...
Anyways, random stuff time! :D
I do not know how to change my shown email adress. I do not like it. I have a new email that's gmail (rhyme?) and when I went to 'My Account' to change it, it said "No."
I will win next time. Seriously.
I looked at Yahoo today and saw this: http://news.yahoo.com/s/yblog_upshot/20110218/od_yblog_upshot/kayakers-snap-photo-of-englands-version-of-the-loch-ness-monster
Somehow, all I can say is that I don't see Nessie as a giant catfish, or a gigantic monster mutant eel. I picture Nessie as this magnificent water creature that has a long neck and a something humped back, and looks absolutely gorgeous.
What looks below underwater/ the body & its limbs, I have no idea. I haven't figured that out yet. All I can say is that if Nessie is not 'real', then he/she/it has to be 'magical'.
Easy as that. Anything can be solved with magic. Well, except for zombies and coupons.
Here's a simpleton's view of the Italian Unification:
Italians grew fed up living under a foreign ruler (aka Austria). The nationalism has changed their ideas, and, as nationalist feelings are practically bursting out of their pores, they want INDEPENDENCE. All they need now is a leader to lead them the way to freedom.
Enter Camillo di Cavour*. He's the new prime minister, and a dead-cunning and ambitious one at that. He's trying to expand the kingdom of Piedmont-Sardinia with all he can, and with diplomacy and alliances, he's set his eyes on north Italy.
Only one problem: Austria's in the way.
So when in Napoleon III of France agreed to help in 1858, Cavour, with his new friend, provoked the Austrians into war. Cavour, with his brand new shiny French-Sardinian army, won the battles twice. In the end, he succeeded in taking over the north, except for Venetia which is added later.
Then a challenger (not really) appears. His name is Giuseppe Garibaldi, and he and his
The years pass by, and pieces of Italy are falling into place. In 1866 Venetia became part of Italy, and finally the Papal States, with Rome, was added in 1870.
Simpleton Father: And so that's the story of how Rome became the capital of Italy. Did you like it?
Simpleton Father's Child: No. That was stupid.
*= Actually, his name isn't even Camillo di Cavour. It's something like Leonardo da Vinci and how 'da Vinci' is actually 'of Vinci' not 'da Vinci a lastname'. His real name is Camillo Benso, count of Cavour. My history book is lazy.
**= I'm not sure if 'Sicily' here means 'The Kingdom of the Two Sicilies' or the 'Sicily island' of Italy. Probably the first. Tried checking, but all say 'Sicily', so I don't really know what to say about this.
Note: the above interpretation is a simpleton's point of view. Dont' sue me for getting places wrong. I will try to keep things as accurate as possible. (but not right now)
---
[EDIT] Okay, now that I look at it, that was quite stupid. The so-called simpleton's view seemes to be in fact VERY VERY different from the original story. Well, I did dramatise some bits, but....
I demand my history book #1 to be revised. I want my money back. Thank you to group discussions and history book #2.
So let's try this again:
The part where the Italians were fired up were right. Especially with Guiseppe Mazzini, who remined the Italians of their glorious past, i.e. the Roman Empire and the Renaissance. So the Italians demanded for independence, the want pouring out of their pores (figuratively). Except that, well, Austria was too strong for them. None of the revolts suceeded.
Camillo Benso, or 'Camillo di Cavour' as he's more commonly known, could see the Italians' want for independence, and could see their problem quite clearly. Sure, Italy had fiery words, noble thoughts, and brave patriots, but they also needed tough soldiers and strong allies to fight Austria. Though cunning, Cavour was also cautious and practical. He knew the nationalist groups (e.g. Mazzini's Young Italy - unrelated to Hetalia's Chibitalia) alone couldn't take the Austrian troops.
So instead, he worked to improve the Kingdom of Piedmont-Sardinia's economy, so it could work to unification. With that done, he moved on to forming alliances. He signed a treaty with Napoleon III of France, ensuring that France would help drive Austria off Lombardy and Venetia if Austria threatened Sardinia.
So, with your nation's economy sound, and with a strong ally with you, what do you do? Prepare for war. In 1859, Austria was provoked into war against Sardinia, and France kept its word: French troops rushed into aid. The French-Sardinian army won victories.
Then a betrayal (?!) occurs! Alright, so 'betrayal' is a bit too strong. Anyways, Napoleon III went back on his word: he signed a truce with Austria, afraid of a unified Italy's power. The result: only Lombardy was returned to Sardinia, not Venetia. Hence why Venetia didn't become part of Italy until much later.
Cavour tried to persuade the king, Victor Emmanuel II, to continue the war until all of north Italy was freed, but it seemed as though the king was quite satisfied. He accepted the peace terms.
So for the moment there wouldn't be any more of regaining land from Austria. Until one special person in red appears, that is...
If There's One Thing I Should Learn, It's Not to be Blinded by False Sense of Security
Don't get me wrong. I hate run-ons, (some) fragments, and other English mistakes too. But this is more important(?).
I might add images later. Make it more easier to read & give readers breaks. But not now. Later.
Back to the point. I need to stop being blinded by a false sense of security.
This morning, there was a Social Studies review test on Post-Napoleonic Era, AKA 'Congress of Vienna, and How Nationalism brought Conservatism crumbling down'. (I could've put it better, but no.)
Now, don't get me wrong; I did review it. All last night, cramming it into my poor little tired brain which was trying to be creative in making this weird gender-bending story about a boy who turned into a girl.
Back to the point. So I shredded through the review test about the Congress and how Belgium and Greece were awesome and bashed for their independence and won. I don't know how long I took. I don't care how long I took. All that matteres is that I've finished and gotten a review test out of the way.
So ticking that off the to-do list.
After much enjoyment in watching Mythbusters during Science class and busily thinking of Rube Goldberg and his awesomeness, the happiness drained out of my much worn-out body as the review test monster numero deux appeared: in the form of a French media review test.
Bah, humbug. Shredded through that too. Don't even remember what I added. I don't care. That's two review tests out; no more for today!
And then, post-lunch-happy-break, the terror. Computers/Information Technology.
Don't get me wrong. I love computers, sort of. I love Word and Photoshop 7, and occasionally dream of making super-cool pictures/animations with my pitiful mouse and my newly installed super-awesome/badass Adobe CS4.
Which I cannot get used to.
The fact that the 'history' box of the Photoshop CS4 has disappeared didn't help. I'm still not used to this new 'CS4'. I don't care how many tools it has. If I can't get it to work, it'll only be as useful as a cup of hot tea in the middle of the desert.
We're supposed to use Flash to make animations about various computer concepts. So I'm trying to coax my Flash to work and make my animation's storyboard magically come alive. It doesn't.
And then I have a mental breakdown and start (mentally) to mangle Adobe Flash into nothingness.
After school I complain about how my tooth hurts for no particular reason other than to bother me, when something new hits.
I don't have that much homework!
And this is where I must, as I always tell myself, always be careful, because there is this valuable quote that Mr. T has always provided us:

And well put. I specifically know that if I do not do some of my 'other due date homework' during my 'today's-homework-done-free-time!' free time, I will in the end perish under the load of 'that homework' and the new 'today's homework'.
And now look: I'm busily reading 'Hyperbole and a Half' posts while writing a blog post without any effort to be proper and neat. I even think I once decided to be all proper and 'gentlemanly' and learn the ways of being a 'gentleman' - no swearing and being well-mannered in general.
You know what? I think I'll party first then pull myself together. Which means until I broke into the finish line of 'school' and head into the 'race of freedom/holiday', I'll be too busy to mind my conduct.
So until the holidays, gentleman's conduct, adieu.

Point. What is this 'point' of which you speak? *shifty eyes*
I'm serious. I will later have pictures in here to make it pretty. But later.

100 Drabbles: 62. Magic
“Santa’s not real!” he stated.
“He is too!” she replied.
“Look, it’s physically impossible for Santa to deliver millions of presents, all over the world, in one night, with only eight—“
“Nine!” she corrected.
“…Only nine reindeer! It’s just not happening!”
She raised her hand. “I have an answer!”
He rolled his eyes. “What is it now?”
She widened her eyes. “Magic,” she breathed.
He stared. “No, I’m not taking that excuse again.”
“I’m serious! Magic’s awesome! Everything you call ‘impossible’ can be possible with magic.”
“No, no, not going to happen…”
And while they bickered, the reindeer snickered.

The Blog's official title has been chosen: "Riolu's Blog World"
Now, don't sue me for using a Pokemon's name. In truth, this has initially been a science blog, and at the short time I had to create the blog and make an account, I chose the name of my favourite Pokemon: Riolu.
That does not mean that this blog is anything related to a Riolu, sadly. Not anymore.
The point is, even if I wanted to change my blog title, the URL is still going to say 'riolu-riolusblogworld.blogspot.com'. And I do not wish to restart my blog from scratch; that takes too long. So rather than have a completely different blog title & URL and confuse people, I finally decided that I should stick with what I had 3 years ago.
And, as stated above, do not sue me. Honestly. I didn't do it on purpose; I was young then.
Cheerios,

100 Drabbles: 61. Fairy Tale
This is based off a 'fairy tale' I made in a French lesson.
--
61. Fairy Tale
Once upon a time, there lived a nice witch, though not that pretty. A prince once asked her directions to the princess he was to marry. She pointed him the way, and gave him some tomato soup for the journey. He thanked her and moved on.
Days later, he returned to her house, declaring that the princess was too arrogant and he would rather marry the kind-hearted witch. She agreed to his proposal, and they had a happily-ever-after, except for the princess who suddenly choked and died.
“How is that for a story?” Father asked.
“I hate it,” Child answered.

Need Help Finding a Novel
And then I shall continue. What will I say today?
I have a small request. (Maybe it's not so small, but...)
I had practise SAT questions yesterday at Elite, and one passage was a novel excerpt. I really enjoyed the excerpt, and wanted to find the novel.
The only problem is, I don't know how.
I have tried searching through Google and some other websites, but I have no clue as to how to find this. Wikipedia is no help.
Long point short: I need help finding a novel, as said in the title. What I know is this:
-The novel was published in 2001, and is in English.
-Name of author/title is unknown (which gives me fabulously no help).
-The main character is a female mystery writer, Susan, who writes under a pseudonym, R. E. Sinclair. She has a fiancé, Oliver, who is negotiating/negotiated with a publisher to publish a romance novel, (maybe) under a pseudonym as well: Olivia Northington.
-I have no clue as to what genre, or what the rest of the story is. The excerpt only showed Susan thinking about pseudonyms, mostly.
If you know this novel, would you please let me know the title & author, please? Thank you!

Books I'd Like To Reccommend
For Psychological Thriller/Horror readers: (I'm sorry, I'm still unsure of the difference between thrillers & horrors. Please let me know if you know.)
Misery - Stephen King
Through this book, I have discovered why Stephen King was so awesome.
Bestseller-writer Paul Sheldon finds himself severely injured and in someone's house. The owner of the house happens to be Annie Wilkes, his number-one fan, nurse, and, if this should be mentioned, captor. And that's not all; she wants him to write a book just for her, and she has many ways to get him to do what she wants...
I do have to warn people; it's filled with quite graphic scenes and high suspense/tension, so if you have a weak heart/ do not enjoy graphic details, it's probably best not to read this. If, however, you enjoy murder/psychological stuff/gore/etc, this is probably a good book for you.
For Fantasy (?) readers:
Wicked: The Life & Times of the Wicked Witch of the West - Gregory Maguire
For some reason I had trouble reading the first section of the book, but later whizzed through it.
We all heard Dorothy's triumph over the Wicked Witch of the West, but what happens when we look at the Witch's side of the story? This book tells you how. We look at the world of Oz through the Witch's perspective, and how she grew from the little green-skinned girl to a witty, sharp infamous woman. Oz will probably not be looked the same way ever again.
It's always interesting for me to look at someone else's perspective of the story; the same plot seems to come out differently. I haven't read the actual Wizard of Oz, only an abridged version, but this book seems just as interesting as the original, if not better.
This book is part of a series (Wicked series), with the next books (so far): Son of a Witch, A Lion Among Men
For Humour readers: (these have two different mixed genres, though both seem mostly for humour)
The Toyminator - Robert Rankin
I haven't read the book before this, but I think it's alright. It's quite good alone, methinks. Also this book seems to incorprate Science Fiction with Humour.
Strange things are happening in Toy City, and no-one can explain why. The police are baffled. Many believe it's the End Times/Apocalypse. Some believe it's an alien invasion. Eddie Bear, with sidekick Jack, are on the case, but will they be able to save Toy Town, and (gasp!) the human world from complete destruction?
I used to believe science fiction was a somewhat dull genre, but now I see a ray of hope. I liked the tone of the story, as well as the story itself. A bit of a warning though; there are a few mentions of sex (though never explicit), some Hollywood-esque accidents, lots of alcohol, and may or may not be inappropriate humour. But laughter guaranteed.
This book is part of a 'series' I believe: The Hollow Chocolate Bunnies of the Apocalypse (preceded by)
The 13 1/2 Lives of Captain Bluebear - Walter Moers
Fantasy/humour, methinks.
Set in the (nowadays underwater) nation of Zamonia, this book is mainly centred around one particular blue bear named Bluebear (such an original name). The book tells of his life & adventures around Zamonia, including places such as Gourmet Islands, Gloomberg Mountains, a Bollogg's head, and (gasp) Atlantis. It also features various incidents with various creatures (Spiderwitch, Wolperting Whelps, Nocturnomaths being a few).
Though this book appears thick, it's very enjoyable and filled with comical (if not helpful) illustrations, and humour. It's very imaginative and creative.
This book is part of a series (Zamonia series): Rumo & His Miraculous Adventures, The City of Dreaming Books, The Alchemaster's Apprentice
Deactivation... & Realisation
I deactivated an account on the internet. And no, I am not quitting my blog.
I have 'killed' my account on DeviantART. Why? I have no idea. But I was somehow feeling dA wasn't helpful and felt like it.
One of the things you must be prepared for before deactivating your dA account is the mascot looking at you tearfully, asking if you really wanted to deactivate your account. You'll need to have a hard heart and be absolutely certain about your decision if you are serious about deactivating. If you don't, you'll feel sympathetic about the sad mascot and stay. I faltered for a moment before firmly clicking the 'yes' button.
If any of the watchers in dA (either enraged, sad, confused, etc) are reading this right now, please do not ask me why I left/tell me to return/toss comments of outrage & cusswords into my page. I will not answer to either of them; it is my decision, after all. I have the right to decide and do things my way, even if it may upset people. (I don't really see why people would miss me, seeing I hardly updated) The fact whether or not I will return to dA is unknown. I might, later (emphasis on the 'later'), but not now.
--
And about the other thing; realisation...
There are two parts to this:
1) I hardly updated & wrote my drabbles. It has already heaped up to 26 drabbles, and now due to my fear I am not doing anything.
2) I sometimes have to realise that people will be reading my blog. Well, not really. But what Mr. T told us about universities looking at a student's website/etc (Facebook is no exception) pulled me from my dreamy state of what pasta to eat for dinner and back to my senses. I really need to do something about my blog. Tidy it up a little, perhaps.
One day on dA a person told me my fanfiction wasn't as good as I thought it was and was basically things spewed all over the intenet put together. And now that I re-look at it, I can't help but think person was right.
I have now come to a decision to have 'tidy-up day' and clean out all of the bad posts and make my blog look amicable. But perhaps I'll leave 'Drunk Today, Remember Me Tomorrow' out just until tomorrow, as I have actually created another version for chapter two.
The rest of the weird posts will be tossed out and deleted.
Just thought about warning people.

100 Drabbles: 25. Trouble Lurking
How ironic life is. Sometimes, life seems cruel, or unfair, yet it’s inevitable.
“I hope it doesn’t rain.” Sometimes that really occurs, other times it rains. “I hope it rains today.” Sometimes, to the wisher’s disappointment, it doesn’t rain.
“I hope nothing goes wrong today,” you might say, but in the end, something goes VERY wrong. This might be the same for “I really hope something goes wrong today,” but at times life cheats and gives what you say. Hence the saying “Be careful what you wish for.”
So when you say, “What could possibly go wrong?” what will happen?
100 Drabbles: 22. Mother Nature
She hadn’t done much, in truth. In fact, the only thing she was the ‘mother’ to was planet Earth, and the universe. The rest, creation of man, for instance, just happened.
She asked her daughter, Earth. “How are you, child?”
“Oh, fine,” Earth answered. “A new kind seemed to have emerged… but nothing much otherwise.”
Years later, Mother Nature asked again. “The new kind is very inventive, and creating new things I’ve never dreamed of.”
Years later, she asked again. This time, Earth said, “I feel ill. The new kind is fighting against each other. I wish they would stop.”
100 Drabbles: 21. Vacation
“Thinking of going out this holiday,” he said proudly, packing his suitcase.
She nodded lazily on the couch, not looking. “Sure, sure. Where’re you going?”
“Abroad, perhaps.”
“Sure; but where’s your passport?”
Brief silence. Then; “…Um, I forgot where I left it. Plus I haven’t booked tickets yet.”
“No use then, is there?”
“No. I’ll go to the beach then. But…” he faltered. “…I think I lost my swimsuit.”
“No use then, either?”
“No; besides, I don’t think I can go anywhere; car’s in the repair shop.”
“…Then where are you going?”
He glared at her sourly. She merely smirked.
100 Drabbles: 20. Fortitude
“I am not weak,” he growled, struggling to get up. “I won’t lose!”
“Hah! I like your fortitude, but I’m sorry to say that your efforts will be fruitless,” she cackled.
“You evil witch!” He finally pushed himself to his feet and drew his sword once more. “This time, you won’t get away!”
“Oh, really now? I heard the same thing dozens of times before; and they all fail! I always have the last laugh!”
“Let’s see about that. Let’s end this!” They let out battle-cries…
“Kids, time for supper!”
“Okay!” the children rushed in, “Save the fight for later!”
100 Drabbles: 18. Rainbow
He was usually grumpy, so it was no surprise how frustrated he seemed when he found it was raining and had no umbrella. She cheerily allowed him to share, despite his protests.
“You need to appreciate things more. Look, the rain’s stopping!” she pointed at the clearing skies. All he did was grunt.
The grey clouds shifted, and a ray of sun spilled onto the world once more. And following that was the unforgettable ribbon of varied colours.
“A rainbow!”
He thought it was childish, but he too couldn’t help but reminisce his childhood days.
In the end, he smiled.
100 Drabbles: 17. Blood
He shook his head. It wasn’t real; it all wasn’t real. It couldn’t be real. It just…
Only that it was right there, in front of him, as plainly as anyone could see. She was dead. Her body was awkwardly splayed, eyes glazed, unseeing, and all digits frozen into unnatural figures.
And then there was blood. Blood everywhere. The whole room was splattered in the ominous shade of crimson, darkening slightly as they dried, and made him unsettled. Red was a provoking colour, but this somehow seemed different.
He tried to scream, but couldn’t. He was frozen to his spot.

Prussia and British Accents rule. For me, anyway.
But it's just my opinion.
--
Getting off track again.
...Apologies, my sense of chronology is in shambles at the moment.
It all began on Friday, the first day of October, probably. The afternoon was, well, cloudy and cold, I guess (as it always is). It was just another Social Studies/Humanities/History class before Lunch time. I was enjoying my time watching a video about Absolute Monarchs, when the teacher uttered the unforgettable.
"We wouldn't discuss Central Europe and Prussia in class. Read up on that in your own time."
And I almost cried. I have been waiting for several months to learn about the awesome nation, and we weren't even going to go through it. I was despairing. After class, I asked the teacher, Mrs. R, if she really meant that, and if there was any other way I could
She said I could be discussion leader on it if I really wanted to, and I immediately agreed. Even though I was stressed over Louis XIV's rise as a discussion leader* (first time), I couldn't let my
The next Monday (also the Monday two weeks ago), I recieved a note from her outlining what I should 'discuss' about, and we also had a talk about it. I was practically overjoyed, despite being slightly loaded with homework. She said if I wanted, I could work with a partner, and I agreed.
I almost solved my partner problem by joining up with friend/classmate J. Rather big mistake.
Not only could we not find time to meet up & research, she had no idea what the subject was either, though I may have told her about five times "It's about Central Europe. You read this section of the photocopy here. I'll do the part about Prussia, okay?" Plus she seemed to have no interest whatsoever.
So I was alone, slaving around my laptop during the weekend before my dramatic day (11 October). I almost lapsed into hate for Prussia.
And then that day, 11 October, Monday, came. Despite having only 1.5 practice sessions (the first one being partial, as I was halfway done through the PowerPoint when I practiced), I did a pretty awesome job. I barely stuttered, only stumbled occasionally at a forgotten word, and was enthusiastic about my work. Mrs. R gave me a 7 for my presentation* (YAY) I felt proud of my presentation, and thought I made der atle Fritz/Old Fritz proud.
The next day, my friends classmate F & A suddenly told me I spoke with a British accent during the whole presentation (especially when saying 'the Thirty Years' War'). It was pretty random, and it stunned me. I had been working hard on speaking with a British accent (I don't know; my English was neutral before, as in neither United Statian* or British, or Austrailian/etc) because I had a liking to the UK*, and the fact that it has now been installed in my brain so I don't have to be conscious when speaking was absolutely fabulous to me. I rejoiced.
--
(Not So Good) Footnotes:
Discussion Leader* = Basically means making a presentation about a certain historical topic (e.g. The Spanish Armada). Usually you make an outline/notes (bullet-point style), and a PowerPoint. Oh, and visuals. You explain & talk about the topic. Mrs. R also usually adds points between slides, and as she is quite talkative she tends to go over some points for an extended period of time (several minutes)... which may make your originally planned time much longer than intended and rush over the last good details sloppily. But this can be avoided if you explain well.
...a 7 for my presentation* = Our school system follows the IB system. So all our grades are marked 1-7, seven being the highest. Somewhat like A-F system and % system, only IB has limited, easy to remember numbers. Just my opinion.
United Statian* = Someone on dA wrote an essay where she referred 'Americans' as 'United Statian', as technically everyone living in the Americas (both north & south) were 'Americans', and it was unfair to only refer US people as 'Americans' and not for Canadians, Mexicans, Argentinians, Chileans, etc. And I agreed to what she said; it is unfair. Though it is quite hard to say it.
...taken a liking to the UK* = Brother: You're not being entirely truthful, are you? Me: What may you mean? *innocent tone* Brother: ... Me: Oh FINE. Douche.
Back to the point: there actually is another reason why I gained a sudden interest in the UK. If I spew what happened since February, this post will never get done so I'll make it short. I fell in love with Hetalia: Axis Powers. You may find the implied hint and draw your own conclusions. One of my friends were British so I would've fallen in love one day anyways. ...Actually, remember when I said I thought I was an Anglophile now? Yea, relate to that too.
--
...Probably the longest post I ever made :O
Jealousy? :/
But I looked through 'Hyperbole and a Half' again.
And I thought it was awesome. Again. (for some reason I kept on making typos for 'thought')
And it makes me think.
Stuff like:
"Why can't I do something USEFUL with my blog?"
and "I wish I had lots of funny random incidents in my childhood."
and "Oh right, I DO have some! 'Cause I'm awesome too! :D"
and "Do I have any homework?"
and "ALCWM'CQON3O that was so FUNNY"
and "...What am I doing right now?"
and "I love this blog (no idea which one I'm talking about)"
and "I'm starting to feel quite jealous of her blog. It's awesome. I love it. But my blog isn't as funny as I wish it was."
and, well, more stuff.
...
...
Yea.
100 Drabbles: 16. Questioning
“Alright, lady,” he tossed files onto the table. “We’ll go through this again, and I’d like some cooperation, hm?”
She glared back at him. Though battered, she was still defiant. “Fudge you.”
He smirked slightly. “Still have that foul mouth? Crazy woman. I’ll ask again. Where were you last night?”
“At home.”
“But the evidence doesn’t say so, lady. Says that you’ve been elsewhere, like, I dunno; your ex’s house?”
“Why would I be there?”
“…Where were you yesterday?!”
“I said home, jerk-arse!”
He grabbed her collar, but dropped her, disgusted. “You’ll confess soon enough,” and he slammed the door.
100 Drabbles: 15. Silence
The air was thick, tense. No noise was heard. Nobody dared breathe. And then…
“Quack.”
All heads turned around at the abrupt sound, some even jumped at it. The culprit, a person from one of the back rows, grinned sheepishly. “Sorry, couldn’t help it.”
Some rolled eyes but most turned their heads back to one direction. All eyes stared intently at the same direction. Then…
“Five, four, three, two, one…” all chanted. The bell rang.
Immediately the room was filled with clamour; everyone screamed and clambered, rushing out, all cheering.
The room was filled with a new silence; empty silence.
100 Drabbles: 12. Insanity
“Why are you doing this?”
She laughed, though it sounded strange. “You said so yourself, right? That I’m insane, and needed to be here?”
He remained impassive. “…You know I didn’t mean it –“
“Oh sure you didn’t!” she snapped, but laughed once more.
Then he slammed the door. She heard the door lock, and him swearing. But she didn’t care. This was how things ended anyway.
They called her insane from the beginning. But now, after she’d committed so many crimes, they have the courage to lock her up?
She laughed sourly all night long in her new home.
