100 Drabbles: 54. Tower

Received help from this site for the card meaning: http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/learn/meanings/tower.shtml

--
54. Tower

He let her pick up the card. “Well?” he asked, “What do you see?”

“I see… a tower.” She answered dully. A simple tower, with a bolt of lightning and a couple of figures falling. So what; big deal.

Yet, he seemed to take it more seriously. He gasped, snatching the card, wide-eyed. “T-the tower? T-that cannot be!”

“What? Is that something special?”

“I-it means a lot more than you think! Whatever you believed in will turn out false; only you don’t know what the false one is!”

She blinked. “What?” Did that mean… she was going to be betrayed?

100 Drabbles: 52. Deep in Thought

52. Deep in Thought

She sat on the couch, thoughtful. A long time had passed since he arrived in the family; close to two decades, in fact. And he has changed a lot since then. She looked at her younger (albeit taller) brother, who was now rearranging boxes. He was almost 180º different to the little whining child back then. She smiled a little at the thought.

“…Sis… Sis!”

“Ah?” she snapped out of her thoughts.

He merely glowered at her. “Don’t ‘ah?’ me, sis! A little help would be nice here?!”

She sighed, smiling, as she hopped off the couch to help him.

100 Drabbles: 30. Under the Rain

30. Under the Rain

Drip drip, rat-a-tat-tat. The sound of rain.

He stood alone under his umbrella, checking the time, and waiting.

Eventually she arrived, running. “I’m so sorry,” she panted.

“Where were you?” he snapped abruptly. “I was standing in the rain for ages! Didn’t you know how worried I was?”

“Hey, I said I was sorry, I – Wait, did you say you were worried about me?”

“…N-no I didn’t.”

“Yes you did.”

“No I didn’t! I –” he faltered. Then abruptly he pulled her into a hug, and began dragging her. “…C’mon, let’s find some shelter.”

And she grinned. “You do care!”

100 Drabbles: 68. Hero

68. Hero

“I’m the hero!” he cheered as he jumped up and down the bed.

She merely groaned in response, covering her head with her hands, sitting on the edge of said-bed. Which happened to be bouncing as well, due to him acting like a maniac.

“Honestly, won’t you just calm down?” she asked, exasperated.

He glanced at her, grinning. “Course not. Just drank a bottle of soda; now I’m feelin’ high~ Plus heroes can’t calm down; they need to save their damsels in distress!”

“I’m in distress.” Then she whacked him with a pillow. “Just shut the f*ck up, damn it!”

About Prince Philip of 'Sleeping Beauty'...

Has anyone noticed this before?
I was just flicking through my old Disney movies (boy they were good; better than recent ones. I do like Lilo & Stitch though), when I discovered this.
In Sleeping Beauty, one of my old-time favourites, the beginning shows young Prince Philip going to see his 'future bride' Aurora. I found when he was little, he had blond hair.

<-- Philip looking at the baby 'bride-to-be' :D I found his expression funny when he appeared disbelieving/even disgusted.

Then we move on, skipping past Malificent and the Faeries' gifts part, and to when Aurora, or Briar Rose as she's called at the cottage, is sixteen. This time we see Philip again, all grown up, and close to marrying. And guess what his hair colour is: brown. Not a light shade of brown; dark brown.

<-- Philip in some lake/river after being thrown off his horse, Samson. And quoth the prince, "No carrots." XD

The fact that someone's hair colour could change between childhood & adulthood was so odd to me (unless he dyed his hair; which I don't think happened during the 14th cenury).
So I shared my discovery with my parents. My mother told me that one of my friends had a similar situation: As a child, he had pretty blond hair, which his mother liked. And as he started growing, his hair colour darkened. Nowadays he has red/reddish-brown hair, to his mother's disappointment.
Just found this rather odd.

100 Drabbles: 24. No Time

Couldn't think of anything else for this prompt, other than the Wonderland citizens. Just an average day in Wonderland. Wonderland & co. are characters belonging to the great Lewis Carroll, who wrote Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass.
--
24. No Time

“I’m late! Jeepers! I’m so late!” he cried as he ran down the lane.

“What are you late for?” the Hatter asked, sipping his tea.

The White Rabbit turned, impatient. “The Queen’s football matches! Surely you all would come?”

“Hm, we’ll see.” He bit his buttered toast. “More tea, March Hare?”

“Sure,” and the Hare drank his cupful.

The Rabbit thumped the ground, irritant. “Come on then, gentlemen! We must go to the football matches this instant!”

“Why don’t you go ahead? I see you’re already late,” said the Hatter.

And so he was. The Rabbit cried before hopping off.

100 Drabbles: 40. Rated

Ummm supposed to be some movie trailer sounds, methinks. Words in brackets () are the voices of the 'quotes', and words in asterisks * are other sounds. Methinks.
--

40. Rated

“(little girl) Mister, where am I?”

“(scary man) Oh, you wouldn’t need to know, dearie” *grins*

“(random scream) OH MY F*CKING GOODNESS IT’S A RABBIT!!”

“DIE YOU SUNNAVA-“*several gunshots*

“Mommy, I’d like some cookies.”

“Jenny, will you marry me?"

“Derek, I don’t think now’s the time – OH EM GEE-!!”

“(in a car) Yea, and I was like – WATCH OUT FOR THAT TREE!!”

“What?!” *crash, tinkle tinkle*

“….What the hell is going on here?”

The Sparkle! Coming Soon to Cinemas near you!

This movie hasn’t been given a rate due to its crazy nature and vague genre boundaries. Do not watch.

100 Drabbles: 76. Broken Pieces

76. Broken Pieces

You try to gather the pieces. No matter how you try to put them back together, it cannot be done. You have no glue, or anything to bond these pieces together.

It cannot be done. What’s done is done; you can’t put spilt milk back in its original place. You can stop now.

Yet you persist. You try to put back the shards together, though they fall again, though they cut into your skin.

And you cry as you do so. You cry for your loss, for everything.

For your broken life, love, and soul you can’t put together again.

100 Drabbles: 13. Misfortune

Says 'misfortune', so I looked it up for synonyms.. understood what it was (somewhat). I guarantee it's funny (if not, derp).
And I just realised what the number of the prompt word was. :O
--
13. Misfortune

“Ooh, a four-leaf clover!” He joyously ran to the garden.

“Hey, watch out –!” but before she finished he had already stepped on a crack. Immediately, a groan was heard from the house.

“Oh no! Mum!” He turned and accidentally fell through under a ladder. The paint bucket atop the ladder shook and fell. He stumbled, blinded, and to her horror she saw him heading toward an inconveniently placed mirror on his way.

“No!” As she shoved him away from the mirror, he fell and broke his teeth. He raised his head, grinning. “I pickt de cover. ‘Salright now, right?”

100 Drabbles: 2. Love

Inspired by 'The Way I Do' by ... uh, I have no idea. It says it's a High School Musical OST (I'm not an entire fan of HSM, like my feelings for Twilight. It's just alright. The first movie of HSM I watched & liked, especially because of the songs. The second was okay. The third I didn't bother watching. But I really like the songs.) *gets blasted anyway by ranting anti-HSM-fans*
I'm getting off track. Song-inspired.
--
2. Love

He smiled at her sleeping figure; her head resting on his arm, her body curled up under her. He never realised she would look so sweet, angelic like this.

He could almost remember and hardly believe that he would like her when they first met. She seemed so unbelievable, so different, and yet… yet there was something about her that seemed, what, right?

And now here she was, lying with her head on his arm, like a sleeping baby.

I never thought… I never realised… that I would come to love you. Never thought I would, but… I love you.

Realisation. :0

I just realised.
That I was being a douchebag.
No, really. I mean look at these blogs:
http://blogsofnote.blogspot.com/
(the one I found especially cool was 'Hyperbole and a Half', but that's not the point I'm getting across here)
Thing is, I'm pointlessly spamming my blog with random things, like this.
But maybe that's what makes me the special Admiral Ignorant I am right now. I am, and will always be, a douchebag, and proud to be an ignorant person. (not really, but SHHH D:<)
... Sorry, just needed to rant.

...Somehow Annie Wilkes reminds me of Axis Powers: Hetalia's Russia/Belarus... Don't ask why. She just does.

100 Drabbles: 79. Starvation

I'm reading 'Misery' by Stephen King... Loving it so far. As a fellow writer I felt sorry for Paul Sheldon, and almost felt heartbroken when he was forced to burn the only copy of his newest book.
But this is just the beginning (only began it yesterday); should be more exciting events soon! :D

So, yea. This drabble was partially inspired by one of the scenes I've encountered so far. Don't say I copied it off, because I didn't, I swear, please.
--
79. Starvation

“Please… PLEASE!” he rattled the cuffs ferociously. His eyes were almost in tears, and his stomach, twisting, screamed.

She, his saviour, on the other hand, looked at him blankly, as if silently pondering whether to torture some more or let him off.

Either way, he broke down into rather pride-breaking sobs. He had none now; it’d shattered weeks ago. “P-please… I-I’m dying.”

“No you’re not,” but she appeared sympathetic.

After a few more painful seconds, the gut-wrenching scent arrived. He forced himself to be patient as the spoon came to him; and he swallowed rapidly, greedily, almost dirtily.

“Good boy.”

100 Drabbles: 43. Dying

FFFF probably my worst drabble ever. But this scenario just hit me like BAM while watching the telly and begged me to be written. And this was the only word which seemed to somehow fit. (the other option was Sacrifice, but SHHH D:<)
And onto the drabble.
--
43. Dying

“…B-but, it can’t be possible. Both can’t…”

“It is, I’m afraid,” the doctor answered solemnly. “A queer situation; never seen one like it.”

A pair of twins lying on separate beds. Apparently a condition where one must die for the other to live.

“I-I’m sorry, ma’am, but there’s no other way. You can’t have both.”

Her heart broke at the thought of only one surviving, and couldn’t keep her beloveds alive.

“…I can’t. I can’t think.”

The doctor sighed. “I guess we should wait and see how it turns out.”

Later, one screen flat-lined. The other’s heartbeat slowly began rising.

Digital Camera Shutter Speed + Germano/Anglophile

... All the others in Photography class have more expensive & professional cameras than mine. Mine is a simple Samsung ES10.
This week's homework: take a photo of something in motion/ with high/low shutter speed.

One major problem; I cannot find my shutter speed controller. I only just started this activity after all; how should I know all about my camera? Plus I think I may have lost my user manual...
Oh well. All I have now is my timer (which I frankly hate) and zooming in with clicking.

I just found out my tripod can expand(?!)! :D

--
I know I'm spamming my blog. It's all pointless. But I want to rant anyway.

I just discovered a new word (or words) while searching for pedophobia (not pedophilia, mind you). It was 'Germanophile' and 'Anglophile' (and Francophile too, but SHHH D:<) Not to be confused with 'Germanophobe' and 'Anglophobe', which are its antonyms, respectively (and Francophobe, but SHHH D:<)
A Germanophile/Anglophile is a person who is fond of German/English culture/people/in general, and not someone who molests the nations I mean- never mind.
So, yes, I was beginning to wonder if I have become one. Ever since Hetalia came out, my brain has been raped hacked. All I think about is that. And I love England and Germany so much I think I may have become an Anglophile or a Germanophile. Well, not a severe one, but one falling to its plague. I am even considering going to the UK for university/college. Or at least somewhere nice (am I an Europhile now? XD)

...Just suddenly discovered something random on Wikipedia. While looking at the page 'Koreanophile/Korean Wave', I suddenly saw a link to 'British Invasion'. Obviously I was thinking wrong, but went there no less due to curiosity. Saw that it was about the Beatles et al., not a nation invading another country.
Brother: You were thinking wrong; WAY wrong.
Me: How do you know?
Brother: You were thinking 'weird' thoughts, I can tell.
Me: Really? *starts to think 'weird' thoughts, or: "Durr hurr"*
Brother: NO DO NOT ADULTERATE THE INTERNET WITH YOUR FOUL MIND!! *shoves a chunk of spaghetti down my throat*

100 Drabbles: 27. Foreign

I only used France as the country because that was the only foreign language I was comfortable in. I don't want to make any errors for other countries (Italy was an option, but no, I haven't taken that course yet)
Just a side note.
---
27. Foreign

Great, lost in some country with language I can’t speak. Can this get any worse? She growled, flipping through her tour guidebook, trying to find where she was.

In the end, she asked a passerby. “E-excuse me?”

He turned, smiling pleasantly. “Oui, mademoiselle ?”

Crap. He speaks French. “U-um, o-où est, uh, ici ?"

He prattled in French, which befuddled her. Then he seemed to realise she didn’t understand him. “You, euh, tourist?”

“Y-yes,” she answered, surprised.

He spoke slowly in English, explaining directions and so on. She thanked him as she ran off, “Merci !” He merely smiled and waved.

100 Drabbles: 23. Cat

23. Cat

“Let’s play ‘guess the animal’!” the teacher cried. The children sang in unison.

“Right. My ears are pointy and I purr when I’m happy. What am I?”

“A dog!” one shouted, which almost caused the teacher to fall over.

She tried to compose herself. “…No, it’s not a dog. It purrs.”

“A rabbit!”

She frowned. “No, not a rabbit. Um, it hunts for mice.”

“It’s an owl!”

“It’s not an owl!” Were the kids this stupid? “Okay, last one; it likes milk and fish.”

“A pig!”

The teacher sank her head in her hands. And outside a cat laughed silently.

100 Drabbles: 14. Smile

14. Smile

He manically laughed as he finished his story. “Wasn’t that hilarious?”

She nodded, but didn’t laugh. In fact, she seemed as expressionless as ever.

He sighed. “No, really; what makes you laugh, or at least smile?”

She shrugged silently.

“I bet you’re pretty when you smile.”

She blushed, but said nothing.

He sighed, getting up and giving up. Then he slipped. BANG. “Ow!” he groaned, “What the fu-?!”

Abruptly he heard someone giggling. He turned just in time to see her mouth flash into a smile before composing herself.

And he grinned. “Told you you’d be pretty when you smiled.”

100 Drabbles: 38. Abandoned

38. Abandoned

“D-don’t leave me… please…”

Because you’re the one…

I try to hold you back, but you continue to leave. I grasp onto your sleeve, begging, weeping, asking why; but you do not answer. Is this how it’s all going to end?

“Why? At least let me know why…!”

This time you turn around, but only give me a cold glare before stalking off. My grip loosens unknowingly. I cry out for you, but you are already gone, long gone.

And I am alone, beating the ground for you, weeping.

Because you’re the only one who makes me feel this way…

100 Drabbles: 9. Drive

9. Drive

“Slow down, you douche!”

He grinned back at them, which elicited more cries of dismay around him, all anxious of where he was heading with these skills. “Well, you guys probably need to get used to this; I’m not slowing down for you!”

“Just ‘cause you got your driver’s license yesterday, it doesn’t mean you can plough right through the traffic!”

“Really? I thought it was.” He turned around once more, which caused cacophonous shrieks.

“Look in front of you, moron!” one hollered, grabbing his friend for dear life.

“I’m going to feel sick…!” And more screaming and puking ensued.

100 Drabbles: 3. Light

Started this a few days ago... going to make one drabble a day :D
Based on the 100 themes thing... Original drabble style! (100 words exact)
Characters included will most likely not be any character from a fandom... unless I say so otherwise. Names will not be included, so think what you like.
NOTE: These will not be done in the prompts' original order, so the numbers may be random.
And onto the drabble.
--
3. Light

He was humming a tune as he lay on the grass. She liked what she heard, and asked about it.

“What is the song called?” She asked curiously.

He looked at her, smiling. “Oh, this? Just some random tune; I just made it up as I went along; all spontaneous. But, I can turn it into a song for you if you like.”

He loved it when she smiled so joyously, and so he added words to his tune.

“And I need not cry any more, I need not fight. For you’re the reason I live; you are my light.”

Squiby?

... So should I or shouldn't I?
As in 'should I make an account and have a Hetalia adoptable, or shouldn't I?'
HMMMM....
It's all very tempting.
Well, I did make a story or something like that of having a Hetalia unit at home (if you don't know what that is, here's a link: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5789490/1/The_bHetalia_b_Guide_and_Maintenance_bManual_b), but it may/may not be different...
I have no idea. I'm so indecisive.

...
Shortest post ever! :O

Photography Class

Began photography class and just had the second lesson yesterday! As homework we all need to take & find one best picture so we can critique it for next class.

This is a photo I took in my front garden. They said it was good! :D

The tower in the corner... It's the Eiffel Tower! XD And I'm joking; no I sadly do not live in Paris.

School, Procrastination, & (Military) Uniforms

One great thing about school this year is that in Social Studies, we're going to learn about *drumroll* PRUSSIA! The nation of awesomesauce.
Thing is, not yet; we need to get past France's Louis XIV, and then sometime later we'll get to Prussia.
Can't wait! :D
And after the Absolute Monarchs, we'll get to the revolution. THE FRENCH REVOLUTION. NAPOLEON BONAPARTE. WHOOPEEE!!! XD
Somehow, despite not knowing much about him yet, he's my role model. Despite his *ahem* physical stature, he was close to dominating the world or whatnot.
PARDON MY IGNORANCE. I am, after all, Admiral Ignorant, the (awesome) hero who lives under a rock and doesn't know even half of the current events.

And now, procrastination.
It wasn't a habit before. And now it's plaguing me.
Teachers are telling us to post stuff online or whatnot. Don't they know that the internet & computer are weapons of mass distraction?! (not destruction, mind you)
Stupid science write-up/exam is due on what, Thursday morning, before class starts.
And I need to make a report about a local government article around my area.
Politics and economics aren't my thing, people! D8 I thoroughly enjoy history and creative subjects, however! XD

I was looking for a list of hats, and I found this while googling.
http://www.hat.com/
Awesomesauce or what? XD Can't buy them though... no money.

I saw 'Shutter Island' yesterday. One memorable (though not major) scene was the overhead shot of the dying German soldier in the office (German, supposedly).
Apologies to avid Nazism haters and people who actively hate WWII... But it's just I find uniforms fascinating. It was a nicely taken scene, too.
Admiral Ignorant is currently interested in uniforms, but admits to have not yet studied about the Second War. Wants to, very much. But unless I take the course when I'm in my last grade (which, my teachers have warned, contains lots and lots of essay-writing), I wouldn't go near that subject.
I do not support Nazism/Fascism, or the cruelty of the war & concentration camps, mind you. I am simply interested in the uniform; design and all.
Which may be why I like Ludwig and Hetalia so much. Derp.
...It may even be that I have a uniform fetish *shot*
Not of the sexual kind, no, not really *SHOT*
And I'll shut up now.

Admiral Ignorant, over and out!
