62. Magic
“Santa’s not real!” he stated.
“He is too!” she replied.
“Look, it’s physically impossible for Santa to deliver millions of presents, all over the world, in one night, with only eight—“
“Nine!” she corrected.
“…Only nine reindeer! It’s just not happening!”
She raised her hand. “I have an answer!”
He rolled his eyes. “What is it now?”
She widened her eyes. “Magic,” she breathed.
He stared. “No, I’m not taking that excuse again.”
“I’m serious! Magic’s awesome! Everything you call ‘impossible’ can be possible with magic.”
“No, no, not going to happen…”
And while they bickered, the reindeer snickered.

Disclaimer
After changing my blog title several times, I feel that it's not going to work anymore and it'll only confuse people more. Therefore, I have decided to return to the title I used previously, approximately three years ago.
The Blog's official title has been chosen: "Riolu's Blog World"
Now, don't sue me for using a Pokemon's name. In truth, this has initially been a science blog, and at the short time I had to create the blog and make an account, I chose the name of my favourite Pokemon: Riolu.
That does not mean that this blog is anything related to a Riolu, sadly. Not anymore.
The point is, even if I wanted to change my blog title, the URL is still going to say 'riolu-riolusblogworld.blogspot.com'. And I do not wish to restart my blog from scratch; that takes too long. So rather than have a completely different blog title & URL and confuse people, I finally decided that I should stick with what I had 3 years ago.
And, as stated above, do not sue me. Honestly. I didn't do it on purpose; I was young then.
Cheerios,

100 Drabbles: 61. Fairy Tale
Remember the drabble series I had? I decided to pick up where I left off, sort of.
This is based off a 'fairy tale' I made in a French lesson.
--
61. Fairy Tale
Once upon a time, there lived a nice witch, though not that pretty. A prince once asked her directions to the princess he was to marry. She pointed him the way, and gave him some tomato soup for the journey. He thanked her and moved on.
Days later, he returned to her house, declaring that the princess was too arrogant and he would rather marry the kind-hearted witch. She agreed to his proposal, and they had a happily-ever-after, except for the princess who suddenly choked and died.
“How is that for a story?” Father asked.
“I hate it,” Child answered.

Need Help Finding a Novel
Before I begin, allow me to say, "Hi, how have you all been doing? Busy year, eh?" as well as apologising (for no reason) for procrastinating and not writing any drabbles.
And then I shall continue. What will I say today?
I have a small request. (Maybe it's not so small, but...)
I had practise SAT questions yesterday at Elite, and one passage was a novel excerpt. I really enjoyed the excerpt, and wanted to find the novel.
The only problem is, I don't know how.
I have tried searching through Google and some other websites, but I have no clue as to how to find this. Wikipedia is no help.
Long point short: I need help finding a novel, as said in the title. What I know is this:
-The novel was published in 2001, and is in English.
-Name of author/title is unknown (which gives me fabulously no help).
-The main character is a female mystery writer, Susan, who writes under a pseudonym, R. E. Sinclair. She has a fiancé, Oliver, who is negotiating/negotiated with a publisher to publish a romance novel, (maybe) under a pseudonym as well: Olivia Northington.
-I have no clue as to what genre, or what the rest of the story is. The excerpt only showed Susan thinking about pseudonyms, mostly.
If you know this novel, would you please let me know the title & author, please? Thank you!
Hatter08, over and out!

Books I'd Like To Reccommend
This all depends on your opinion & your interests about whether or not it is a good book. However, I'd still like to present some of the books I've read so far and enjoyed.
For Psychological Thriller/Horror readers: (I'm sorry, I'm still unsure of the difference between thrillers & horrors. Please let me know if you know.)
Misery - Stephen King
Through this book, I have discovered why Stephen King was so awesome.
Bestseller-writer Paul Sheldon finds himself severely injured and in someone's house. The owner of the house happens to be Annie Wilkes, his number-one fan, nurse, and, if this should be mentioned, captor. And that's not all; she wants him to write a book just for her, and she has many ways to get him to do what she wants...
I do have to warn people; it's filled with quite graphic scenes and high suspense/tension, so if you have a weak heart/ do not enjoy graphic details, it's probably best not to read this. If, however, you enjoy murder/psychological stuff/gore/etc, this is probably a good book for you.
For Fantasy (?) readers:
Wicked: The Life & Times of the Wicked Witch of the West - Gregory Maguire
For some reason I had trouble reading the first section of the book, but later whizzed through it.
We all heard Dorothy's triumph over the Wicked Witch of the West, but what happens when we look at the Witch's side of the story? This book tells you how. We look at the world of Oz through the Witch's perspective, and how she grew from the little green-skinned girl to a witty, sharp infamous woman. Oz will probably not be looked the same way ever again.
It's always interesting for me to look at someone else's perspective of the story; the same plot seems to come out differently. I haven't read the actual Wizard of Oz, only an abridged version, but this book seems just as interesting as the original, if not better.
This book is part of a series (Wicked series), with the next books (so far): Son of a Witch, A Lion Among Men
For Humour readers: (these have two different mixed genres, though both seem mostly for humour)
The Toyminator - Robert Rankin
I haven't read the book before this, but I think it's alright. It's quite good alone, methinks. Also this book seems to incorprate Science Fiction with Humour.
Strange things are happening in Toy City, and no-one can explain why. The police are baffled. Many believe it's the End Times/Apocalypse. Some believe it's an alien invasion. Eddie Bear, with sidekick Jack, are on the case, but will they be able to save Toy Town, and (gasp!) the human world from complete destruction?
I used to believe science fiction was a somewhat dull genre, but now I see a ray of hope. I liked the tone of the story, as well as the story itself. A bit of a warning though; there are a few mentions of sex (though never explicit), some Hollywood-esque accidents, lots of alcohol, and may or may not be inappropriate humour. But laughter guaranteed.
This book is part of a 'series' I believe: The Hollow Chocolate Bunnies of the Apocalypse (preceded by)
The 13 1/2 Lives of Captain Bluebear - Walter Moers
Fantasy/humour, methinks.
Set in the (nowadays underwater) nation of Zamonia, this book is mainly centred around one particular blue bear named Bluebear (such an original name). The book tells of his life & adventures around Zamonia, including places such as Gourmet Islands, Gloomberg Mountains, a Bollogg's head, and (gasp) Atlantis. It also features various incidents with various creatures (Spiderwitch, Wolperting Whelps, Nocturnomaths being a few).
Though this book appears thick, it's very enjoyable and filled with comical (if not helpful) illustrations, and humour. It's very imaginative and creative.
This book is part of a series (Zamonia series): Rumo & His Miraculous Adventures, The City of Dreaming Books, The Alchemaster's Apprentice

Deactivation... & Realisation
I did something I had never thought I would ever do one year ago.
I deactivated an account on the internet. And no, I am not quitting my blog.
I have 'killed' my account on DeviantART. Why? I have no idea. But I was somehow feeling dA wasn't helpful and felt like it.
One of the things you must be prepared for before deactivating your dA account is the mascot looking at you tearfully, asking if you really wanted to deactivate your account. You'll need to have a hard heart and be absolutely certain about your decision if you are serious about deactivating. If you don't, you'll feel sympathetic about the sad mascot and stay. I faltered for a moment before firmly clicking the 'yes' button.
If any of the watchers in dA (either enraged, sad, confused, etc) are reading this right now, please do not ask me why I left/tell me to return/toss comments of outrage & cusswords into my page. I will not answer to either of them; it is my decision, after all. I have the right to decide and do things my way, even if it may upset people. (I don't really see why people would miss me, seeing I hardly updated) The fact whether or not I will return to dA is unknown. I might, later (emphasis on the 'later'), but not now.
--
And about the other thing; realisation...
There are two parts to this:
1) I hardly updated & wrote my drabbles. It has already heaped up to 26 drabbles, and now due to my fear I am not doing anything.
2) I sometimes have to realise that people will be reading my blog. Well, not really. But what Mr. T told us about universities looking at a student's website/etc (Facebook is no exception) pulled me from my dreamy state of what pasta to eat for dinner and back to my senses. I really need to do something about my blog. Tidy it up a little, perhaps.
One day on dA a person told me my fanfiction wasn't as good as I thought it was and was basically things spewed all over the intenet put together. And now that I re-look at it, I can't help but think person was right.
I have now come to a decision to have 'tidy-up day' and clean out all of the bad posts and make my blog look amicable. But perhaps I'll leave 'Drunk Today, Remember Me Tomorrow' out just until tomorrow, as I have actually created another version for chapter two.
The rest of the weird posts will be tossed out and deleted.
Just thought about warning people.

100 Drabbles: 25. Trouble Lurking
25. Trouble Lurking
How ironic life is. Sometimes, life seems cruel, or unfair, yet it’s inevitable.
“I hope it doesn’t rain.” Sometimes that really occurs, other times it rains. “I hope it rains today.” Sometimes, to the wisher’s disappointment, it doesn’t rain.
“I hope nothing goes wrong today,” you might say, but in the end, something goes VERY wrong. This might be the same for “I really hope something goes wrong today,” but at times life cheats and gives what you say. Hence the saying “Be careful what you wish for.”
So when you say, “What could possibly go wrong?” what will happen?
